Quite frankly, what does one write about doors and windows? Yes I understand that it is not necessarily a literal look at this topic, like the wooden French doors and the cottage windows are so overwhelming beautiful on this house.
So I began to dig. And I found that Doors and Windows was a Cranberries EP in 1995, which featured the song Dreams (the live version). This song seemed appropriate for today.
“Oh, my life is changing everyday,
In every possible way.
And oh, my dreams, it’s never quite as it seems,
Never quite as it seems.”
Today we went to look at a house outside of the city. We are looking for a simpler life, where we can leave the doors open to let the fresh air in without wondering when someone will come in and rob us. Where we can look out our windows and see the flowing stream, the sunsets, the rustling of the leaves on the trees.
This will allow us to breathe more, to play more, to be happier.
We might not get the house, but today we realized that there is so much more for us out there. As we both work from home, our jobs allows us to pack up and to go somewhere more quiet, where we can embrace nature and embrace life.
This post is capturing my hope. My hope that soon we will find the perfect home, out of the city filled with smog and people who are always in a rush. In a way, I am hoping that the doors will unlock for us, and that the possible move will open windows for us, windows that weren’t there before… And if it does not work out, hey, at least today is the day we realized, that one small move, could possibly mean a happier us…
